Welcome to the Website of All Saints Church, Epping Upland
All Saints' Church is in the village of Epping Upland, to the north west of Epping. It is situated on a ridge overlooking fields and countryside.
We are a very welcoming church in the catholic tradition and are members of Inclusive Church. We gladly recognise that everyone, irrespective of age, gender, sexuality, nationality or disability, is a Child of God, valued and loved by Him, and with gifts and talents to contribute and share.
Found in a rural area, All Saints' Epping Upland is a friendly church. Our normal weekly worship centres around a Parish Eucharist (CW) at 11.10, with a non-eucharistic all-age service on the fourth Sunday. This is preceded by Sunday School which leads into the service. On the first and third Sundays we also have an 8 am Eucharist (BCP).
The church has strong links to the nearby church primary school, Epping Upland C of E Primary School, and hosts carol and other school services throughout the year.
The small but regular congregation is supportive and working to maintain their much loved church. It is an older church with part of the present nave dating to the 13th century and a late 16th century tower, found in a very rural location with views across fields in every direction. The church stands in traditional churchyard with a rural back drop. It has its own spacious car park and is accessible from the M11 and M25.
The church is open in summer on Sunday afternoons when teas are served, starting in May. Some of the tables are placed outside to allow enjoyment of the fantastic views. There are always wonderful homemade jams and cakes on sale.
This active church organises a range of events over the year, including a Pet Service, a summer concert and other opportunities to listen to music of different types such as organ concerts, handbells and harp music.
All Saints Church is part of the Epping District Team and takes its turn in hosting regular team events and services, including the annual Advent Ring Service and the Easter Day sunrise service.
All Saints' Church churchyard is closed to burials, although the neighbouring graveyard, administered by the Parish Council, is still open. All but the most recent existent registers of baptisms and marriages and all those for burials are held at the Essex Records Office in Chelmsford.
